Get To Know... HISD

HISD: MCs Savvi, Scottie Spitten, Equality, LD Voice Producers: King Midas, E. Classic, Soul One (Collectively known as GoldenSoulClassics) I first became aware of HISD a few years ago thanks to Soul One, whos 1/3 of the GoldenSoulClassics triumvirate that shapes the sounds of the collective. Id known as a DJ, and he was telling me about this new crew that he was a part of: Its called HISD Like like, the school district? Well, yeah but it obviously stands for something else. Hueston Independent Spit District. Or you can switch out Spit with Slang or substitute with something else. I see Dont get it twisted the crew goes hard. We got team of producers, some emcees and DJs, and its all coming together pretty nicely. Despite my initial confusion with the name, I trusted Soul Ones endorsement. Weeks later, I attended a show to see D Rose, and HISD was on the bill. (Unfortunately, I caught the last song of their set.) But looking at the collective, I recognized Savvi because hed been on the scene for a while, and wed talked in passing a few times about doing some work together. While I didnt know the rest of the group at the time, I did notice that they had a respectable crowd that had come out to see them. Mental note made. I needed to see what was up with this HISD. When D Rose was in the pre-production stage of Tasters Choice, he sent over a track that was in consideration for the album, and he wanted Big Mon and me to jump on it. It was tentatively titled The Caper: I ...

The Sound of Now 2010 - Vol. 2

Ocean Breathes Salty - Sun Kil Moon (cover)

I just love the opening line: 'Your body may be gone but I'm gonna carry you in, in my head in my heart in my soul' - stunning!! Originally by Modest Mouse but Sun Kil Moon takes it to a whole new level of awesomeness! I have just posted a tab on the ultimate guitar website www.ultimate-guitar.com thanks to those who stop by and listen to this cover and my best of wishes to everyone in the whole wide world! :) __________________________________ Your body may be gone, I'm gonna carry you in. In my head, in my heart, in my soul. And maybe we'll get lucky and we'll both live again. Well I don't know. I don't know. I don't think so. Well that is that and this is this. You tell me what you want and I'll tell you what you get. You get away from me. Collected my belongings and I left the jail. Well thanks for the time, I had to think a spell. I had to think awhile. And the ocean breathes salty, won't you carry it in? In your head, in your mouth, in your soul. And maybe we'll get lucky and we'll both grow old. Well I don't know. I don't know. I hope so. Well that is that and this is this. Will you tell me what you saw and I'll tell you what you missed, when the ocean met the sky. You missed when time and life shook hands and said goodbye. When the earth folded on itself. And said "Good luck, I hope heaven and hell are really there, I wouldn't hold my breath." You wasted life, why wouldn't you waste death? Independents harassed + intimidated by Liberals + Nationals: Alby Schulz' meathead threats?

(composite video - Tony Windsor interview edited extract @ 2.03+) An Australian Liberal Party MP has threatened one of the men who will determine the next government, unleashing a torrent of abuse and accusing the Independents of being arrogant, naive and "holding the nation to ransom". In an outburst that will undermine Tony Abbott's chances of forming a stable coalition government, Goulburn-based Liberal Alby Schultz said the three rural Independents were acting like a law unto themselves. Mr Schultz rang two of the Independents, telling them to pull their heads in and support the Coalition. One of the calls, to Tony Windsor, was so threatening Mr Abbott had to later apologise to the Tamworth-based Independent. Further adding to the problems facing Mr Abbott's bid to become prime minister, one of the other likely kingmakers, the Port Macquarie-based Rob Oakeshott, has accused National Party Leader Warren Truss of running a smear campaign against him. And Mr Oakeshott has issued a stinging ultimatum to Mr Abbott: "It's time to step up. Does he want to be PM or not?" Mr Oakeshott told The Sunday Mail he is conservatively minded, but will warn Mr Abbott that if he doesn't rein in his MPs there will be no deal. "The question that I will put to Tony Abbott next week is whether he is in control of his troops," Mr Oakeshott said. "If this is what it's going to be like for the next three years, then forget it." Mr Schultz's attack, which he admitted would not please his ...

Elvis Presley Stranger in the Crowd

Elvis Presley Stranger in the Crowd Written by Winfield Scott for Elvis. Elvis recorded it June 5, 1970 at RCAs Nashville studios. It is available on Thats The Way It Is and Walk a Mile in My Shoes. I'd been standing on the corner Since a quarter after seven I was down to my last cigarette And the clock in the window At a quarter to eleven I was watching all the people Passing by me going places Just the loneliest guy in the town Looking for a friendly smile But all that I could see were faces And then, just like the taste of milk and honey I found the stranger I've been looking for The way my cup of love was overflowing I knew the stranger in the crowd And I would be strangers no more Love had found us on that corner At a quarter to eleven I thought you were to good to be true All my life I had believed That angels only live in heaven But now, we share the taste of milk and honey Each day is sweeter than the day before My cup of love is overflowing Because the stranger in the crowd And I would be strangers no more Play something boy Deep inside, my cup of love was overflowing I found the stranger I've been looking for The way my cup of love was overflowing I knew the stranger in the crowd And I would be strangers no more I knew the stranger in the crowd And I would be strangers no more La la la la la la la la La la la la la la la la

Exodus 3 Holy Bible (King James)

Exodus 3 1 Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God, even to Horeb. 2 And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed. 3 And Moses said, I will now turn aside, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt. 4 And when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I. 5 And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground. 6 Moreover he said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God. 7 ¶And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows; 8 And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites. 9 Now therefore, behold, the cry of the children of Israel is come unto me: and I have also seen the oppression ...
